A Local’s Guide to Parker County

April 27, 2022

At Trinity Classic Homes, we’ve been building homes throughout Parker County for over 20 years, and there never seems to run out of incredible places to visit throughout the area. With the beautiful scenery, local events and hundreds of quaint shops and restaurants to explore—you will always be able to find the perfect way to spend each day. Read on to see a few of our favorite things about Parker County.

Outdoor adventures

Along the western border of the county lies Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway, and with a number of various outdoor activities you can partake in, it makes the ideal first stop on your outdoor adventure bucket list throughout the area. The trails alone offer visitors the ideal location to appreciate the incredible scenery the park emits, and with rock climbing terrain also available—you’ll be able to try your hand at a number of new activities every time. The park also has a 640-acre lake for people to enjoy with options to go boating, swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding within the crystal clear water or fishing and camping along the shores.

It’s not just the mountain views that make for a great activity day, though. Take a trip over to Grand Adventure Park for a fun-filled day of go-kart races, mini golf lessons and arcade challenges to round it all out—and no matter how long you spend there, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth after the day is done.

Scenic gardens

Although the natural scenery of the area is one thing that will always offer you the most unbelievable views, taking a stroll through some of the region's exquisite botanical gardens can also be a great way to spend any weekend.

Starting with Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, you’ll easily be able to spend hours walking along the impeccable paths that wind throughout the area. The picturesque garden seamlessly blends stunning architectural elements with the sophistication and charm of a classic garden settled throughout the English countryside. With 3.5 acres to explore and various events held within its walls, you’ll always have a great way to spend your afternoon.

Another incredible spot throughout Parker County is the Clark Gardens Botanical Park. Take a guided tour or stroll through the park on your own time to fully take in the beauty the area has to offer. The historic tree trail is always worth a visit here, and as one of the largest in the country, it features 86 historic trees for you to marvel at.

Dining and drinks

The dining options in Parker County stretch as far as the eye can see—and with a number of incredible cuisines to choose from, you’ll be able to try something new everywhere you go.
If you’ve spent the day on the water at Lake Weatherford, there’s no better time to try out the delicious dining experience that Tavern on the Lake has to offer. Sometimes, though, for your dinner option all you want is a nice home-cooked meal. If that’s the case, Peaster Diner is where you need to set your sights. You won’t find anything too out of the ordinary on the menu—just simple, good meals to enjoy, no matter what.

For the weekends when you want to wind down, there’s no better time to try out a few of the wineries and breweries located in the area. Parker County Brewing offers an ideal location for sampling a number of craft beers, but if wine sampling is more your style—you’ll want to be sure to stop by Dove Ridge Vineyard for the drinks as well as the view.
